CHRIS MARTIN, GWYNETH PALTROW – Le 14 mai, Gwyneth Paltrow a donné naissance à une petite fille dans un hôpital de Londres. C’est le 1er enfant du couple Gwyneth Paltrow / Chris Martin (Coldplay) qui s’est marié en décembre 2003. La petite fille se prénomme Apple Blythe Alison Martin. Selon un communiqué officiel, la mère et l’enfant se portent bien et les parents « sont au 7ème ciel ». BLACK EYED PEAS – Propulsés au sommet des charts par le succès pachydermique de leur album Elephunk, les membres de Black Eyed Peas ont décidé de foncer à nouveau en studio afin de sortir un nouveau disque avant même la fin de l’année! Incroyable? Il est vrai que Elephunk avait été enregistré lors de 3 différentes sessions au cours des 2 dernières années. Monkey Business: c’est le nom déjà choisi pour l’opus à venir (toute la jungle risque d’y passer…) sera donc produit beaucoup plus rapidement que le précédent, et devrait être dans les bacs en novembre 2004! Néanmoins une surprise de taille devrait réjouir tous ceux qui se sont trémoussés au son de Run DMC et de Aerosmith sur Walk this Way puisque, conformément à nos prédictions le groupe a prévu une collaboration avec les Anglais déjantés et glam rock de The Darkness. RADIOHEAD, COLDPLAY – Les deux ambassadeurs de la pop anglaise, Radiohead et Coldplay, sont tous les deux en lice pour remporter le Mercury Prize, une distinction qui récompensera le 9 septembre l’album de l’année en Angleterre. Cette récompense s’intéresse aux artistes dont l’album, sorti pendant l’année en cours, n’a pas atteint la barre des 500 000 exemplaires vendus, tout en étant considéré comme particulièrement inventif. PAPA ROACH – Papa Roach, le groupe rap metal américain auteur en l’an 2000 de l’album Infest, sera de retour en juin avec un nouvel opus intitulé Lovehatetragedy. La formation californienne enregistre en ce moment les morceaux Explosive Energy Movement, Time And Time Again, The Heart Of Darkness, Sid, Black Clouds, Code Of Energy, She Loves Me Not et Walking Throught Barbwire. Le chanteur Coby Dick explique que toutes ces chansons ont été écrites avant d’entrer en studio: « Beaucoup de groupes entrent et disent, OK, on va tout faire dans le studio et écrire notre album.
